Recently members of the Blackpool Fylde and Preston Advanced Motorists Group (BFAPAM) attended the North West and North Wales Spring meeting.
The Meeting was held by the Area Service Delivery Manager Steve Ellis and Amanda Smith, Head of Field Operations.
It was held at the Ibis Styles Hotel in Haydock. Below are a collection of images from the day, where everyone enjoyed being able to catch up with each other over a bit of food and drink.
It was a very interesting day with much input and feedback from those attending.
Items discussed during the day included how local groups can recruit and retain members once they have passed their tests, how many groups have regular social meetings and we also discussed ‘group best practice’ – this included how to get our message across to the general public and what the groups have to offer, what works for them and how IAM RoadSmart can assist with this.
There are now 184 groups in total, this is because some have merged with a neighbouring group, so we want to find out if is bigger better and believe our recent merge helps us expand not only geographically but also as a team.
We also had time to discuss websites. 20 sites are on offer to groups, on a 1st come 1st served basis. The IAM Road Smart Organisation are happy for groups to create and manage their own, especially as they are really happy with ours!!!.. (Thank you so much!)
All Groups must also keep up to date with current GDPR rules and make regular checks on the Charity Commission website for updates.
And finally not to forget that a number of head office people are happy to come out to the groups and do talks as well, which we will look forward to organising in the future.
If anyone would like more information about the day or our group in general please feel free to get in touch via our contact page.
Thank you to everyone involved.
